Language Usage In Our CommunicationsWe have received some complaints from pro-amnesty, pro-anarchist, pro-open borders supporters and even journalist and we find the complaints unfounded and ridiculous at best. We try to use language and word selection carefully in an attempt to ensure accuracy in communication. We are not always successful, but we try. The PUA does not subscribed to any form of racism or discrimination. It is not reflective in our language usage or platform or consistent with our policies. However, we do believe in giving Americans the truth, or in some cases, exploring areas and fact finding where traditional reporters fear to go. We do seek to be accurate in our reporting and nomenclature in order to expose the truth and not obfuscate it, as such trickery practices have become so common in today's press and media. Many debaters on all sides of debates attempt to control language, hence perception, hence truth making by labeling some words offensive or politically incorrect. We do not subscribe to this ancient debater's ploy, although we see that many journalist are now controlled by it. The PUA seeks to use language that the federal government itself, and others use to described most of the issues, aspects, and facts that we write, debate, or speak about. If, as a reader, you are in doubt as to our intended word meaning, please refer to our online Dictionary. PUA's Stance On Some Language The PUA is offended when journalist deliberately blur the facts and lines between legal immigration, otherwise known as "immigration," and its illegal counterpart, which is not "immigration" at all. One cannot "immigrate" illegally, unless such a criminal act is sanctioned by the government, in which case, the act becomes legal, hence immigration. Immigration entails a citizenship intent. Those who pass our borders illegally have no such intent, as the law does not recognize these unlawful acts as valid attempts to win legalized citizenship. The use of the words "undocumented worker", "undocumented immigrants", and other slang words are not only inaccurate, they sell a political agenda by attempting to obfuscate the truth through manipulation of language. 'Undocumented" refers to a person without legal documents and the right to legally work or be on US soil. If one is operating outside the law, they are a criminal or outlaw or operating illegally. Calling this group "undocumented" is simply a debater's tool to soften the fact that the subject being discussed is indeed criminal, whether one accepts the reality or not. As a reporter, when you report using these and other false nomenclatures, you shift your news story to a form of propaganda rather than intelligent, fact-based, unbiased, balanced reporting. We ask that you use accurate language at all times and quit offending those who believe that the rule-of-law should be supported. Quit offending US citizens by trying to hide the facts and truth from them by manipulating language to show your support for these political agendas that are essentially a support for lawlessness. On the other hand, please do not falter in the other direction and use derogatory language either. In yesteryear, it was not uncommon for Congress members and others to use the term "wetback" to describe what should be labeled strictly and respectfully, an "illegal alien" and not an immigrant, which is another thing altogether. Please be fair, accurate, and understanding that there are two sides of every story and that in this case, a well funded political opposition has succeeded in getting many journalist to shed their use of accurate language and instead apply carefully selected forms of language meant to deceive and promote political agendas and confusion as well as false empathy for law breakers. It's true that when a criminal is caught, for example, that the family is broken up so that the criminal can go to jail. It is not true that the government is somehow responsible for the criminal's acts - the government set-up the laws that we might all live by in a civilized society. The clouding of the issues and promotion of lawlessness is really a promotion of anarchy, so be careful the next time you characterize a situation or family affected by the criminal behavior or those a party to it - these people knew the risks before they engaged in the criminal act and now they must pay the price like any criminal or we are all made to suffer in a constant state of lawlessness and anarchy. What lawlessness do we overlook next, robbery? murder? child rape? Do you see our point... ## |
