PUA Position Statement

Note: Currently, Position Statements have been drafted by the PUA Staff as an initial starting point. However, in the future, PUA Position Statements will be created with the direct input of the majority of PUA Card Carrying Members (public voters) and it will reflect the majority opinion. Therefore, your input as a PUA Member can change, often dramatically, the PUA Position Statements in the near and distant future so if you do not see your ideal opinion reflected here, remember, you can work to change it--the PUA is ruled by majority vote.

Don't you just love eating poison fish and other contaminated items from China and elsewhere and having no clue about it when you go to the grocery store! 

Where are the country of origin notices that put consumers on alert?

Where are the notices on our restaurant menus and product labels? 

Where are the warning labels that say, "This product may contain x,y,z ingredients that may be hazardous to your health"?

Where are the consumer product safety testing and stamps of approval on all imported items? 

Why do we not have a simple rule that says if the US government is unable to inspect the product for any reason, regardless of fault, the product may not be imported---would that not ensure a minimum safety default for our citizens?

How come our government has turned against consumers and consumer protections? What in the world is going on?

In the future, we will be placing great study on this issue and uncovering some important facts that you need to be made aware for your health and safety. We take this subject very seriously even if the federal government does not! Unfortunately, we don't have all the resources we need to carry on all the good work we want to do for you but we're trying hard!
