Governor Schwarzenegger Deemed “Girlie-Man” : Amnesty Schemes Unconstitutional

(see also President Schwarzenegger article)

WASHINGTON, DC (June 11, 2007)

California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is being called a “girlie-man” for refusing to petition the federal government for relief from the illegal immigration crisis. At question is an estimated $20 to $200 billion or more in federal reparations due from illegal immigration impacts in that state.

“The state or its citizens must  petition the federal government under Article IV Section 4 of the US Constitution, which triggers the requirement of federal government to protect them from foreign invasion,” said President Xelan Bonn of  Patriot Union of America (PUA). “Whether the number is 1, 12, 20 million or more illegal aliens, those numbers represent an invasion under the Constitution—states are specifically protected from invasion, whether an armed event or not, so as long as harm can be proven.”

Organizers point to a 249 page report put out by national policy advisory and think tank Patriot Society entitled Operation Safe America, which documents many aspects on the subject of illegal immigration and open borders. Among the findings, that illegal immigration is costing US taxpayers over $200 billion annually in direct and indirect costs, including $46 billion in lost tax revenues from black market labor.

Any cost impacts sustained by not only the states, but by private citizens since the start of the invasion should be technically reimbursable by the federal government until the invasion has been abated,” said Spokesperson Frosty Wooldridge. “If the Governor fails to invoke Constitutional protections, then he potentially cheats Californians out of billions of dollars in federal reparations.”

As for just how the invasion might be abated in order to comply constitutionally, organizers point to a preceding remedy that removed over 1 million illegal aliens from US soil in less than a year.

In 1954 President Eisenhower, worried about the rising corruption in government and increasing tax evasion through the exploitation of illegal labor, swept states for illegal aliens. In less than 4 months, the federal government arrested over 80,000 illegal aliens and as many as 700,000 fled on their own. Soon after, positive impacts to personal wages, commerce, and tax revenues boomed many local economies as employers were forced to hire US citizens for fair market wages and legitimize payrolls.

As California figures the loss leader from invasion impacts, the PUA sought to alert that state’s Governor on behalf of all US citizens but their efforts were snubbed.  “The Governor is no longer a ‘Terminator’ but ‘Term-to-Ender’ when it comes to fighting for the Constitution and against anarchy and needed tax dollars for the majority of taxpaying Californians,” said Bonn.  “Now who’s the girlie-man?”

When questioned about the Senate’s pending so called immigration reform, to remedy the illegal immigration crisis (S.1348), the PUA raised important questions and supported Arizona’s Border Patrol Local 2544’s position—that such a bill mirrors the failed 1986 policy that caused today’s crisis.

“We don’t need immigration reform as much as we need border security reform,” said Wooldridge. “The immigration laws in place just need to be aggressively enforced and 95 percent of this problem goes away on its own—if we have a secure border.” Fix the border, then come back and fix immigration, he said.

“S.1348 is inherently unconstitutional, as it would sanction invasion instead of abate or remedy it,” said Bonn. “Giving illegal alien invaders a path to citizenship is technically unconstitutional, as it not only fails to protect the states and citizens against illegal invasion and its negative impacts, but sanctions invasion and even encourages the invasion to continue (as the 1986 amnesty has proven),” he said. “The cost of amnesty schemes means states will have to absorb part of another $3 to $36 trillion in future costs in order to subsidize the indigent who are given legal status as a reward for invading—that’s not “protection from invasion.”

“The only legal remedy is deportation of all those on US soil illegally once a petition for Constitutional protection is filed, which has not been done to date, as far as we can determine,” said Wooldridge.

PUA’s chief concern is that America’s middle-class has been shrinking since the early 1970s when liberal immigration and free trade policies began to take hold. In 1973 middle-class families making $30,000 to $80,000 (in 2005 dollars) represented about two-thirds of all US households, by 2005 they represented about half of all households, according to 2004 book Greed and Good, by Sam Pizzigati, associate fellow of the Institute For Policy Studies in Washington, D.C.

“If we keep importing people, poverty, and runaway free trade, all of which cannibalizes American wages, jobs, resources, and wealth, we can expect the end of the middle-class in less than a single generation at our current pace—and that means a financial market collapse and Depression along with the end to many of America’s largest corporations—all of whom depend on the buying power of a strong middle-class to not only survive, but grow,” said Bonn. “It doesn’t take a genius economist to see that a shrinking consumer base means less business, hence profits, across the board—when the first domino falls, it will be too late to remedy the problem. Unless we get tough on trade and immigration and turn this situation around starting this year, expect the once unthinkable black-Friday by 2010-12.”

Our country is being hit from every conceivable direction financially—Social Security insolvency, Medicare, Medicaid, drug prescription benefits, Iraq and Afghanistan War, trade policies that enrich our enemies like China, Iran, and others while killing US businesses and jobs, illegal immigration draining off our social, medical, law enforcement, education, job and wage resources, offshoring, outsourcing, healthcare, spiraling national debt, shrinking middle-class, shrinking wages, college enrollment rates declining due to costs and lack of employer participation, high school drop-out rates, and the list goes on, said organizers. “America’s not on the ropes, we’re on the canvas bleeding,” said Bonn. And to make matters worse—add a major terrorist event coming to a city near you soon, he said. “What will that cost?”

The PUA advocates aggressive enforcement of immigration laws, placing a moratorium on all legal immigration until US borders can be protected from illegal entry from both terrorists and others while US jobs recover from wage devaluation, and instituting trade policies and laws that ensure balance trade within the next three to five years with zero dependence on foreign trade in the next 15 years. The PUA wants to see Congress retake control of trade policies and start making decisions that benefit a strong middle-class, and encourage the creation of high paying jobs (not minimum wage jobs), which benefit all.

“This subject may be void of common sense within US leadership ranks but the Constitution remains our guiding light, and if we’re all going to ignore it, then the anarchist, extremist liberals, international traders, and foreigners have beguiled away our country—and then why bother with things as dramatic as the Iraq War—no Constitution, solvency, or democracy means no country worth fighting for,” said Bonn. “Just open up our borders to the world and let our enemies and poverty swamp us to death—let’s get it over with and kill the American Dream—heck with our kids, we got ours!”

The PUA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan citizen’s advocacy and national umbrella voting union fighting to keep alive America’s middle-class. Learn more at www.patriotunion.org
