Brief Overview

Through the Patriot Union of America's (PUA) national referendum project, Americans will soon be able to create, debate, and ensure new laws at the federal level, effectively bypassing Congress and the President (on occasion) using an innovative, military encrypted, on-the-ground verifiable, national survey, polling, and voting system that works from the comfort of any Internet connection.

This leap in democratic ability for all Americans to directly participate in the law making process nationally will bring our nation several steps closer to being a true democracy and will once again allow America to lead the world in creating the most advanced and secured democratic state ever devised in world history.

However, such great leaps forward for humanity and Americans comes at the price of community awareness, support, and funding assistance so all Americans are encouraged to learn about and lend a hand to helping the PUA move forward on this extremely exciting and beneficial project.

PIB System

The PIB system is part of the national referendum voting system that the PUA is pioneering. The technology part of the system is currently in the concept stage and will progress through multiple stages until coming online sometime in or after summer 2009.

PIBs are currently created in-house by the PUA staff, however, in the future, they will be created by a majority vote through online polls, surveys, and votes of both the general public and the PUA membership.

When fully operational, there will be two forms of PIBs: 1) PIB via Congress 2) PIB via Public.

PIB via Congress

This form will apply the traditional grassroots mechanism of BILL making, whereby bills will be created at the grassroots level and sponsored into Congress for vote and enactment into law through traditional means.

PIB via Public

This form of BILL making will bypass Congress and the White House and allow the American people to create new federal laws through a sophisticated checks and balances online and offline voting system. A two thirds majority vote by the people will mandate the new law (no other approvals will be necessary in the legal process). This system will require an updating to our democracy and Constitution.
