News ReleaseFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 4th, 2007PUA Celebrates 1st Year Anniversary Today marked the celebration of the PUA's first anniversary of its birth just one year ago, announced organizers.
"We have grown a lot and changed our focus a little but we remain strong and dedicated to helping Americans rebuild their failing government and country," cheered Founder Xelan Bonn at the exclusive insiders party held for staff and key volunteers.
The expanding organization began as a citizen's advocacy and has moved forward plans toward two ambitious projects.
The flagship project is their proposed national referendum system, whereby voters will one day be able to participate online to debate, formulate, create, and eventually pass laws at the federal level, overriding both the Congress and even the President with a sufficient majority vote.
The second project is their push to create the nation's first national nonpartisan voting union whereby all Americans, regardless of partisanship or special interests, can join forces on issues and solutions of the "common good" and create the nation's most powerful political lobby---We The People!
"Some things are not partisan at all, like terrorism prevention or border security," said Xelan Bonn, PUA founder.
The organization's goals have come under fire from some special interest groups, claiming the PUA is overreaching and unfeasible at best.
"Don't think for a minute we don't know we're reaching for the stars with our projects in trying to fix our broken government and give it back to the American people," said Bonn. "But someone has to try and work for the "common good" for all of us--everyone focusing on their special interest has gotten all of us into this huge mess and it may ultimately cost us our country unless we wake up and start looking out for each other as a whole. If we start making decisions based on the needs of Generation 10--America's future--our children--for the common good of us all, then we have a chance of clearing out the corruption that's destroying our country and we can start making wise decisions that set America and working Americans first," he explained.
In any event, the organization just received enough private funding to ensure another year of operations, said organizers.
" I joined as a volunteer because Mr. Bonn's vision shows the kind of leadership and take no prisoners attitude that I've been looking for in Congress and the White House but never get," said Mike Tierney. "My country's falling apart and I think this is the best organization with the best projects that I've ever seen... that could fix our country and keep it fixed," he said.
The Patriot Union of America (PUA) is a citizen’s advocacy and national umbrella voting union working on political issues and solutions for the common good.
