Congress Alerted To Stop SPP: Middleclass And Economy In Danger

Warnings to Congress over the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) being developed between the US, Canada, and Mexico were voiced by citizen's advocacy, Patriot Union of America (PUA) yesterday.

Topping the list of concerns was the nation's shrinking middleclass, which lost nearly 20% of its ranks over the last three decades (defined as income between $30,000 to $80,000 per year in 2004 dollars), said organizers.

The issue raking the coals is President Bush's push to open the border to the free flow of labor called for under the SPP plan. The move could cost tens of millions of job losses in the nation's middleclass and lead to its accelerated decline, said PUA spokesperson Frosty Wooldridge. 

According to the group's research, some analyst are projecting that a mere 15% further drop in the country's middleclass could spark a major economic domino effect ending with the total collapse of the US economy, said Wooldridge. The SPP, if implemented fully, could accelerate the decline from 20 years to about 5, he said.

The group also projects a major loss across the nation's small businesses, which are heavily dependant on the middleclass for their survival.

"The free flow of cheap labor from Mexico will not only severely impact blue collar industries, but white collar ones as well," said PUA founder Xelan Bonn. "Seventy percent of our national economy depends on consumerism, which is largely dependant on the middleclass who must have plenty of discretionary income in order to spend and keep our economy moving," he said. "Depress wages further and take away another 15% of our higher wage jobs and our house of cards likely falls," he said.

Another major SPP/open border's policy concern is the projected jump in crime expected. In their letter to Congress, the PUA predicted a potential 500% rise in the crime rate as... 

Mexican kleptocracy and its ubiquitous mafias (who now control more police departments and land territory than the Mexican government) rush in to take advantage of open borders – likely pressing lucrative crimes, such as kidnapping, to unimaginable levels.

As evidence for the looming economic catastrophe, the group pointed to the negative impacts already documented by the illegal immigration issue, estimating between 6 to 8 million high paying jobs have already been lost in industries including, construction, film production, oil rigging, meat packing, federal jobs, and more.

Due to the SPP's call for a "common perimeter" for the US, Mexico, and Canada, the group pointed out that the agreement was unconstitutional, that the sharing of a common border, in any manner or degree, was technically the sharing of sovereignty and those who aided such processes to occur were committing an affront on the Constitution amounting to treason.

Our current declining economy is an advance indicator of the coming catastrophic melt-down that is being aided, in part, by a  currency-devaluing national debt (still rising), energy cost increases, and other factors that have removed over $4,800 in aggregate spending power from a $30k per year wage earner’s income – a 16% loss in just one year!

The organization also gave Congress a checklist of things that are ill-effecting its own institution in hopes Congress would take steps to mend itself, citing a whole list of ills from outright corruption to the legal form of bribery known as campaign financing. 

Referring Congress to a special webpage set up for its education, the PUA listed a plethora of facts, papers, news reports, and online videos to demonstrate that the SPP was leading to the North American Union and to dispel the notion that such claims should be relegated to so called “urban legends" and "fringe conspiracy theorists" rather than fact based.

"Our investigative research indicates the SPP/NAU is being backed by the very same transnational groups that are encouraging illegal immigration and open borders," said Bonn. "They hold no allegiance to the US and are bent on the removal of our Constitution and sovereignty in the name of profits and power - and doing a good job of it, I might add."
