Safe America Act - Fresh Approach On Immigration & SecurityIssued On 2-27-08 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Patriot Union of America (PUA), a citizen’s advocacy and national voting union, announced it will release the Safe America Act bill initiative on March 3rd. The grass roots proposal tackles a large swath of hotly debated issues, including domestic terrorism, immigration reform, border security, Constitutional redress, freeing of Border Patrol agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos, job protection for US citizens, safeguarding of the nation’s trucking and port industries, elimination of job-eroding free trade agreements such as NAFTA toward ensuring fair trade, and much more. The initiative draws its solutions from a long list of conceptual research contributors, including the prestigious Heritage Foundation, Pew Research Center, 9-11 Families For A Secure America, Center for Immigration Studies, Southwest Border Sheriff’s Coalition, National Border Patrol Council, Brookings Institute, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and other organizations. “This initiative does something that no other Congressional initiative on these issues has done to date – it listened to the American people and applied common sense and the Constitution toward their final resolve,” said plan author Xelan Bonn. “The PUA did the hard lifting—now it’s up to the American people to pressure Congress to do the right thing and enact this bill,” he said. “It’s time we put Americans and America first.” A free downloadable copy of the bill proposal will be made available to the public at: www.SafeAmericaAct.com when released. Lobbying efforts for Congressional sponsorship are scheduled later in March. The PUA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit citizen’s advocacy and home of the National Referendum System. —30— |
